Forecastle Films is a film production company founded in 2023 by screenwriters Tom Knight and Rick Mischke. They are dedicated to developing a diverse slate of films across a wide scope of genres and platforms, telling character-driven stories crafted to evoke a strong emotional connection with a wide audience. In a world where optics often take precedent over substance, Forecastle Films will use its forum for scripting socially conscious stories with strong, nuanced characters and thought-provoking narratives that entertain and enlighten.
Founders
Tom has been involved in the entertainment industry for over thirty years. His background includes screenwriting, producing, development, packaging, financing, and production of feature films, episodic television, and television news. He has also partnered with non-profits and political campaigns on fundraising, organizing, and event management. Tom has written several screenplays, and recently completed EIGHT THIRTY TWO with co-writer Rick Mischke. They are currently collaborating on EIGHT THIRTY TWO PART II.
Rick is retired Air Force, serving most of his twenty-year career overseas in a Special Tactics unit of U.S. Special Operations Command. Following retirement, Rick turned to writing about his military experiences, which led to acting in short films and theatre, production work as a precision driver, background performer, stand-in, double, and technical advisor for film and television productions. He co-wrote EIGHT THIRTY TWO, while serving as technical advisor, and he is currently collaborating on EIGHT THIRTY TWO PART II.
